There is so much to say about this band. I can’t even begin to describe how amazing they are. The Imagine Dragons are an alternate rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada. This band consists of Dan Reynolds (vocals), Wayne Sermon (guitar), Ben McKee (bass), and Daniel Platzman (drums). In the years 2009 to 2011, they released four EPs: Imagine Dragons, Hell and Silence, It’s Time, and Continued Silence. Those four quickly became popular, especially in the west coast circuit. Then, they released Night Visions in 2012, a full album that swept the nation. Singles like “Radioactive” and “Demons” were played on the radio so often, you could hear the same song 4 times in one car ride. The band’s songs range from light and cheerful (Top of the World) to haunting and dark (30 Lives). But what caught my (and the rest of America’s) attention was the brutal honesty to their lyrics. Often the words make you reflect upon yourself and stayed with you forever. Lyrics such as, “don’t you understand that I’m never changing who I am?” and “you have changed, for better or worse is yet to determine” caused a nationwide sensation. And the energy in their songs not only affects fans, but the band members themselves too. Dan Reynolds actually passed out onto the drum set during one of their concerts while singing the final song. When he woke up, he stood up and finished the song. All in all, the Imagine Dragons will capture your attention and hold it forever.
